What is the difference between striking by design apartments and serviced apartments or hotels?

Striking by design apartments provide spacious, fully furnished, modern apartments, much larger than hotel rooms (even extended stay hotel rooms). All apartments feature a complete kitchen and have separate living and sleeping areas. All include a washing machine and dryer in the apartment. Resort style facilities including pool, gym, sauna and on site Building Managers.

Where do I get the keys?

For arrivals during normal business hours, we will meet you on site at the foyer reception where we will take you up to the apartment and then for a tour through the building. For arrivals outside these hours, alternative arrangements will need to be made.

What is included in the cost?

The rental rate quoted includes the complete cost of the apartment, all furnishings and utilities (electricity and gas is capped at $5 per day, for stays longer than 6 months utilities are only included if specified by quote) and local telephone calls. Additional charges which may be incurred are long distance telephone costs and any special customised furnishings you may request, such as a high chairs and portacots for babies, and the departure cleaning fee.

What are the payment options?

Rental payments are due in advance and rent is calculated on the actual number of days spent in occupation. You may pay by cheque or Electronic Funds transfer, or we accept VISA and MasterCard, although a surcharge of 3.0928% applies. We can bill individuals or we can invoice a company directly by sending out the invoice.

Do you require a Bond?

Yes, we require an up front bond. The bond is generally refunded in full within 3 days of vacating the property, pending satisfactory inspection.

What types of clients use striking by design apartments?

Our apartments are most commonly used for Corporate clients on work contracts and families looking to relocate to Sydney. Striking by design apartments are for everyone that finds comfort and value in a modern self contained apartment. Our client list includes many major national and international firms, as well as small business and Relocation Agents.

What is included in a standard apartment?

Properties are furnished with all the items needed for a comfortable stay. We provide everything from furniture to homeware, linen to electrical appliances. All utility connection costs and usage charges are included (electricity and gas is capped at $5 per day). Cleaning services, baby furniture, utilities, phone, Cable TV and ADSL lines (where available), may also be included, but are not standard. Please see the following for example inventories:
